Whiskey Business Stamp Set and Cards

Hello friends! I am back today to share a new stamp set with you, Whiskey Business! For me this is the ultimate man-card stamp set. I have already used it to make a retirement card (the image immediately below) and a birthday card (to be shared later in the week). I teamed up the stamp set with the World of Good designer series paper, basic vanilla, and black cardstock choices to emphasize the manly designs.

The card above is a retirement card for a friend's husband. In addition to basic cardstock layers of vanilla, black, and gold, a layer of World of Good designer series paper was added, and a hand stamped wood look background. I used the small wooden slat stamp in the set and made my own background paper.

The decanter and glasses were stamped on white cardstock and colored using the Mango Melody and Soft Suede Stampin' Blend markers. The sentiment was stamped on vanilla cardstock and punched using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch (I will do a post on this punch next week). I finished the card with Gilded gold gems.

The Cheers To You card above was actually the first card I made using this stamp set. The card features a very vanilla base card with black matting. I inked the brick and mortar embossing folder and embossed gray granite cardstock. I used the stitched rectangle dies to cut the Merry Merlot frame. As on the card above, the decanter and glass were stamped onto white cardstock and colored with stampin' blends. The sentiment was punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I accented the card with Bumblebee ribbon and In-Color enamel dots.

I plan to share two more blog posts this week featuring the Whiskey Business stamp set. Pop back by later in the week for more fun man cards.

As always, the products used on these cards are linked below.

Magnificent Magenta Peonies

Hello friends! As promised on Thursday, I am back today to show case the 3D portion of the Peony Dies. blossom on the card and on the book mark were cut with the dies. There are five pieces to the dies, four petal pieces and a stamen. The way you assemble the dies is much easier than it looks.

For this card I used the Flowers and More Cards and Envelope set, the Magenta Madness card. I cut a white scallop edged rectangle with the Stitched So Sweetly dies, and stamped and cut greenery from Forever Fern. I used a punch to create the sentiment tag and stamped it with a phrase from the Prized Peony stamp set. I finished the card with Magenta Madness ribbon and faceted gems.

I used two different coloring techniques on the two flowers. I have a favorite, do you? I made the book marker first and I used an aqua painter brush and magenta ink to color the petals. For the card, I used a soft makeup brush and the magenta ink to color the petals. I was very impressed with how the ink spread using the makeup brush. Much easier more smooth than a dauber.

Thanks for stopping by today. The products used to create these two items are all linked below.

The Stunning Peony Garden Suite

Hello friends! I am back today to showcase Peony Garden Suite from Stampin' Up! When I first saw the 2020-2021 Annual catalog, this was the first suite that I knew I had to have. I love Peonies! They are one of my top three favorite flowers. And while there is no way to do justice to their splendor in real life, this stamp and die set comes close.

The stamp set, Prized Peony, includes 10 cling stamps, including the large bloom featured here, two additional blooms, leaves, and four phrases. The die set is HUGE. I includes dies to cut each of the blooms and leaves, a pretty border die, as well as a complete second set of dies to create 3D Peonies and leaves (I will show this part of the suite in my next blog post on Saturday).

The Peony Garden Suite also includes stunning pink and gray print 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, shimmer ribbon, square vellum doilies, elegant faceted gems, and the dainty diamonds embossing folder (used on card #2).

The card above showcases the colors of this suite with the pink and gray prints papers. I stamped the flower image in Memento Ink and used Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color. The sentiment is also from the Prized Peony stamp set. The scalloped edge was created using the border die included in the Peonies dies. I finished the card with the shimmer ribbon and the faceted gems.

My second card today features the same peony stamp. I stamped the image onto vellum and carefully colored it with Stampin' Blends. I cut out the bloom with the dies, then I cut the bloom outline a second time in Purple Posy cardstock and adhered the two layers together.

I used one of the other to peony blooms in the stamp set along with Gray Granite ink, and stamped a background onto Whisper White cardstock. I cut the edge of the cardstock with the border die, then embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.

I finished this card with a vellum and purple posy layered rectangle mat, shimmer ribbon, and faceted gems. I added a generic Happy Birthday sentiment.

In coming days I will be sharing more from this suite. I hope you comeback and take a peek.
