Fox On The Run

Welcome Friends! Today I am sharing this fun card I call, Fox On The Run - after a 1974 rock song. Well THAT was a while ago!

My inspiration for this card came from a momentary whim while cutting my Designer Series Paper. Seriously. I knew I was going to do a split card using the Countryside Corner dies to cut the bridging piece. I decided to add some fun and cut a second copy of the die in the Calypso Coral dsp. Originally I planned to add a strip of the dots at the top and bottom of the white die cut, but when I placed the dot die cut on my paper trimmer to cut it, I suddenly thought, "cut it on an angle!" And so I did.

The angle cut effected everything about the card. Suddenly I ditched the stamp set I had planned to use and grabbed Zany Zoo. Then I looked at the Zany Zoo dsp and loved this fun fox!

A bit of coloring and some stamping and voila!, I had a card!

This card uses three different packages of Designer Series Paper. The Zany Zoo dsp, the Subtles 6x6 dsp, and the Masterfully Made dsp. I love pretty paper. Luckily, there is a sale going now through the end of the month. Stampin' Up! has thirteen dsp prints on sale for 15% off through the end of the month!!

Blog Hop with Gratitude

Hello friends. Today I am joining the Monthly Team Blog Hop with Kylie's Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all of over the world who are part of Kylie's training group. If this is your first visit to my blog, welcome!!

I jumped right in to this blog hop with this happy blue bird card I created using the Birds & Branches Bundle found in the 2020-2021 Annual catalog. I chose an almost monochromatic palette for this Z fold card.

This card showcases on of our new in colors, Misty Moonlight. The base card and the circle die were created with Misty Moonlight. The Z-fold design card features an attached inner card with three decorated panels, the front, the middle, and the inside back of the card. The inner card is made with Night of Navy card stock. On the Whisper White front I featured  the circle die from the bundle, cut out with a scalloped circle die, the bird's nest, and mama bird watching over her eggs.

The bird stamp is a two step stamping process. I used two colors of ink, Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray.

The middle panel in the card features the same Flowers for Every Season designer series paper used on the back area of the Z-fold, and another sweet little blue bird.

The back inside panel again features a sweet blue bird, but also the follow up sentiment which coordinates with the Thank You phase stamped on the front of the card.

To complete the card I embellished with little light blue flowers accented with in-color enamel dot Bumblebee centers and a double ribbon bow.

Wildly Grateful Bird House

Hello friends! Today I am participating in Phase I of Kylie's International Blog Highlights.  Kylie is an amazing Australia based Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from whom I have been receiving training for the last ten months. Next week I will be joining the training group's monthly blog hop. But ahead of that, I thought it might be fun to join the International Highlights group today.

Today's card features the Bird and Branches bundle, along with geometric shapes, stitched dies, and circle dies. There is a darling little nest included in this bundle, but like the three little pigs, I thought my birds might need to upgrade their straw and twig nest to an actual covered house!

To make a house I used a technique I call, "eye-balling it." What that actually means is, I had no real plans, but I began with two rectangles, one in Whisper White and one in Seaside Spray. I used my Stampin' Up! paper trimmer to cut the two rectangles into pentagons, the blue being about one-half inch larger than the white.

My pentagon was an elongated version of the photo above. I used my circle dies to cut out a "door" in the white layer, and then I used the Pinewood Plank embossing folder to add wood texture. A scalloped circle die was used to cut trim for the door.

The roof was crafted by cutting two Stitched So Sweetly labels and mitering the corners together. The seam was covered with the greenery and flowers.

The birds were stamped and then touched up with markers. I used Stampin' Dimensional dots to add depth to the card front.

The top ten cards in Kylie's International Blog Highlights will be featured at the end of the month in an International blog hop. Please visit Kylie's blog at THIS LINK and vote for my entry!

Birds and Branches Bundle

Hello friends! I hope your summer is going well. I ventured out to Target yesterday for the first time since February. I was disappointed in both their selection of patriotic decor and the number of customers not wearing face masks. So, am back to being my hermit-like self.

Today I am going to share the new Birds and Branches bundle. I am going to confess that when I first saw this bundle I thought, "Huh. More birds." But as I have used this bundle, I have grown to truly love it (funny how that happens). What I like best are: The two layer stamp for the birds, that there are two birds and they face opposite directions, the circle cut out die - and that it just fits the largest scalloped circle die, and the detailed stamps and dies in the set. That's a lot to like!

The first card features both the cut out circle die and the cute little bird. Forever Greenery was used to add some additional branches and berries to the card.

The second card uses the same elements as the first, but includes "more." More stamping, more foliage, more color, more texture.

My final card for today is again very like the first two. I did not use the circle branch die, but did add a die cut stitched circle. I stamped this bird in a deeper brown.

I will have more bird and branches cards to share in the near future, including one in an international blog hop in early July. In the meantime, I still have three more new bundles to showcase in the coming week.
