Holiday Happiness Continues

Hello friends!  I thought I would be posting a New Year's project for the New Year Linky Party at Bitten by the Bug 2.  But after lots of company, a tummy thing, and even more company, I did not get my New Year project completed.  I did, however, have a wonderful surprise visit from my older son last night!!!

The big news at our home this Christmas season, is John and Bethany became engaged!  He took her to Asheville, NC to the Biltmore Estate on Friday, December 27th and proposed.  We knew this was coming, but I could not help but admire what a wonderfully romantic setting John chose for his proposal.  As you might guess, my life has transitioned into wedding planning as they plan to marry this summer!

Since I have no project to share with you, I thought I would share a few Christmas morning photos (in which half of us are still in our PJs - including me!).  Above - Doug models his Dr. Who hat and scarf.  Below - John is thrilled that Crissie restocked his classroom supplies!

Ian LOVED his new bass and did not want to put it down to open his other gifts.  I told him that he acted the same way over the Little Tykes car when he was two.  Every other gift was opened from inside the car we named "The Flintstone-mobile".

Bethany likes sloths.... Aaron and I each got her the same sloth for Christmas.  She was thrilled with her twin sloths!

Santa, that awesome fellow, brought me cutting mats and a great die and stamp set.  I was very happy!!

Not to leave Duncan out, he too received two gifts.  He is so sweet and so happy when he opens a new toy!

Aaron and Crissie were funny.  He got a KitchenAid, and she got a tent!  Role reversal much?

And here they all are: Ian, Bethany, John, Crissie, and Aaron.... and Duncan the wonder dog, Edgar the pug and Magnus the puggle.  What a crew!

Please DO go by the BBTB2 blog and join the New Year's Linky Party.  I think it is going to be fun!!

Tag It 2 With BBTB2

Hey there!  It's two days until Christmas and I am still baking and wrapping and menu planning.  Because we are all so busy right now,  the Bitten by the Bug 2 Design Team is not having our weekly challenge (GASP!).  However, we did not want to leave you high and dry just when you might need us, so we DO have an inspiration post!!  This week we are offing you some last minute Christmas Tag ideas.  Because really, how many of us have completely finished ALL of the wrapping? (I thought I was down to four packages to go until I found three more gifts stashed someplace else)!

I decided to show you how quick and easy your Christmas package tags can be.  I used two cartridges, Paper Trimmings and Art Philosophy to craft this super quick, super simple Christmas tag.  I used the round tag cut from Art Philosophy and I added an inner circle.  I cut the Gingerbread man from the Paper Trimmings cartridge, and using Cricut Craft Room, I created a shadow layer.  I welded an oval to the shadow layer and then cut a smaller oval for the To/From names.  I finished the Gingerbread man with a bit of bling and that was it!

I made three of this same tag, to go with the Gingerbread man wrapping paper, as I had three of the same items to give each of my children (a kitchen item!).

I have really truly enjoyed crafting boxes, bags, and tags for this holiday season.  I still have a few more tags to cut, and most of them, in some way, will coordinate with the gift.  Our tree looks like it is ready for the gift exchange, but I confess to leaving room in the back for the larger boxes (those I still need to wrap).

Thank you all for stopping by today.  I hope you take time to go by Bitten by the Bug 2 and see the fabulous tag inspiration the Design Team created for you!  My tag was very simple compared to the outstanding work of my Design Team!  They rock!!

As a reminder, the December Stamp of the Month, Special Care, is only available until the end of the month!  The stamp set retails for $17.95, or with a $50 order the cartridge can be added to your cart during check out for only $5.00!  Be sure to get yourself a gift this Christmas!

Hello friends!  I have been MIA for the week and thought it might be time to catch you up on my comings and goings and Christmasing!  My week began ages ago (or so it seems) with my Christmas Tea last Sunday!  I know I gave you the tea highlights in a previous post.

On Monday, my mom and I traveled to Atlanta, GA to see Amy Grant and Vince Gill perform in a Christmas concert with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  The concert was phenomenal and both my mom and I loved the music!

Amy and Vince sang together as well as individually.  There was only one non-Christmas song and otherwise it was a wonderful mix of fun, festive, moving and uplifting!

I loved the way they look at one another!

After returning home from Atlanta and my mom going back to her home, I have had a mix of crazy days.  I had another of my EVIL kidney stones on Wednesday.  I suspect that I did not drink enough water while away on Monday and Tuesday.

I had a lunch date with my hubby on Thursday, followed by some quite time at home.  Neither of us was feeling 100% and we thought we might just need to rest, eat light, and have a "down day".

Friday I shipped packages, ran some errands and FINALLY starting my gift wrapping.  My shopping has been completed for a few weeks, but I had yet to wrap the first gift.  Ouch.....

I made a few fun and festive packages using the Cameo and Cricut.  I found some great boxes (above and below) at HL and decorated those to look like they were shipped from the North Pole.  Each "child" will receive a mailed box from Santa.  The girls are getting the snowflakes above and the boys are getting the dots below.

I used the Cameo's print and cut feature to make the postage marks, the stamps and the address labels.

My kids saved some of the fun labels I made for them last year to re-use on packages this year.  Bethany especially loved the Buddy the Elf tag from last year.  I did not want for John to feel left out so I did a bit of crafting for him.  John LOVES soccer so I made this cute little soccer boy with a to/from tag welded to him.

I used the cameo and made this pretty box and bow set.  The box was cut in red card stock and the white print snowflakes were cut separately and added to the box.  The tag was cut with the Cricut and stamped with CTMH stamps.

Another of the big boxes I made with a hand made tag attached.

One of last year's saved gift bags.  This was a Cameo decorated bag.

This fun box was cut on the 12 x 24 mat.  I needed for it to be a bit larger then normal.  I used some of the printed 12x18 card stock from Darcie's.

This little snowman box is a cut file from SVG Cuts - you know how I love their cut files!  He is perfect for
"a little something" for Aaron.

Still have about 2/5th of my wrapping to complete, so I guess we know how I am spending my afternoon.  My younger son comes home tonight.  Aaron and Crissie will arrive on Christmas Eve.  I hope to see Bethany and John before Christmas Day, but I know they are busy with John's family.

I will be back on Monday with a BBTB2 post!!

Tag It Christmas Tag Challenge

Hello everyone!  What a busy, busy week I have had - - but not too busy to find time to participate in this week's Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge.  This week's challenge was selected by my lovely Design Team sister, Laura.  Laura asked for use to Tag It - create a package to/from tag to use on your holiday packages.

I used only one cartridge to create my frosty tag, Art Philosophy, which, like Rudolph, is the greatest of them all.  Art Philosophy remains my all time favorite cartridge two and a half years after it's release!  I cut the round tag with a scalloped circle background, and the snowflakes using Art Philosophy.

I used Close To My Heart's Snowflakes stamp set and Crystal Blue ink to stamp the snowflake.  I added CTMH silver gems to the snowflakes.  I added ribbons and two fun labels to the tag.

Yesterday was my 2013 Christmas Tea.  I had 10 ladies, including my mother, in for tea, tea snacks, and a homemade ornament exchange.  I so enjoy getting together with my friends and especially with Christmas approaching.

I completely forgot to photograph the table prior to inviting the guest to partake of the food.  Oops.  The table truly looked inviting before we ate.  I am sorry you are seeing only the picked over version of the table.

I was very pleased to have my mom with me for a few days this month.  We have shopped, baked, attended a Christmas party, and she helped me with the tea.  Today we are off to Atlanta to see the Amy Grant and Vince Gill Christmas concert, featuring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  I have heard wonderful things about this show and am very excited.

I managed to hop into a few photos, like this one below with Kathy, Peggy, Megan, and Toby.

Here I am enjoying a snuggle with my friend Marcie!

And finally a photo of my mom and I.  I think she looks spectacular for a woman who will be 77 in January!

Be sure to take a look at the adorable December Stamp of the Month, Special Care. The stamp set retails for $17.95, or with a $50 order the cartridge can be added to your cart during check out for only $5.00!

Be Merry Large Gift Bag

Oops!  I did it again!  Yes, I did post photos, with good intentions of going back later and adding text.  But guess what? "Later" did not happen!

This is another fabulous gift bag, created using the basic BIG Christmas BAG set from  I love this big bag.  The "Be Merry" words and holly came from the Silhouette America store.

I used Authentique paper for the bag and Close To My Heart card stock for the Be Merry front.

I apologize for forgetting to add text.  My mom is visiting me and we have been very busy.  I will be back for Monday's Bitten by the Bug 2 post.

Personalized Drink Cups with a Friend

Hello friends.  Today I am going to share some fun, personalized drink mugs/cups that my friend Megan made for her female family members.  The women in Megan's family get together before Christmas for a girls only day of lunch and celebration.  Megan and her grandmother, mother, aunt, and cousins gathered last Sunday for their girl's day.  Megan contacted me last month and asked if I would help her personalize a few gifts for the ladies.

Megan purchased double-walled, shatter proof drink "jars" with colored lids.  She had a plan before meeting with to plan.  She knew she wanted her mom's and grandmother's cups to have a Christmas theme, her cousins to have fun designs with fun colors, and for her own and her aunt's mugs to have a University of South Carolina theme.  I am going to be honest here... The Michigan State Spartan in me had trouble with those Gamecock mugs!!  I kept thinking how much better they would look with Sparty on them!

It was fun watching Megan learn to manipulate the vinyl - - which became much easier once I introduced her to transfer tape!!

Megan liked the fun font I used for Maddie's mug so well that she asked if I could use the same font for her first initial too.  This font would be no fun to transfer without the transfer tape.

Oh the gamecocks - shudder!  I created a while frame for the bird so that he stood out a bit.

We added two layer USC initials to the side of Megan and Cindy's mugs....

And to their lids.

I think Megan had fun making the mugs.  She reported back that the mugs were a big hit at her girl's get together.  I am so happy that the other family members liked their mugs.  I thought Megan did a wonderful job of planning what she wanted, selecting colors, and applying the vinyl!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow with another Christmas themed post!!
