Hello Sunflower Card

Hello friends!  I am so excited to share today's card with you!!  Today is Monday and that means this is my weekly Bitten By the Bug 2 Cricut Challenge project.  My sweet and talented Design Team sister, Marti, challenged the team to use a Flourish or Swirl on this week's project.  I chose a flourish from the Flower Market cartridge.

I managed to get ahead on my challenge projects and have had to wait six weeks to share this cute card.   Sunflowers are one of my daughter's favorite flowers so I know she will love this sweet fall card.  I used the two sunflower cuts on the Flower Market cartridge, as well as the flourish and "hello".   The scalloped frame is from the Artistry cartridge.  It is a total Close To My Heart card.  It is also one of my favorite fall projects!!

The top layer of the card is a custom creation.  I used two squares from the basic shapes, one as the top of the card (cream colored layer).  The second square I sized and shaped to fit the scalloped frame, then "sliced" the second square from the cream layer.  The scallop frame was then glued around the opening on the top of the card.  Wow, that was difficult to explain.  I hope it made some sense.

After making the top cream layer, I added the flowers, flourish, and twine.  I used thin pop squares to add the cream layer to the top of a white card.

And because I just have not said it enough - I do love this card!!

Have you been by Bitten By the Bug 2 this week?  My design team sisters have some fabulously flourishing projects to share with you!!!  After you view their inspirational projects, we would love to see YOUR Cricut cut Flourish projects!!

New Workplace Wonders Desktop Organizers

Hello friends! I am SO EXCITED to be able to share this news with you.  The Workplace Wonders Desktop Organizers are FINALLY available for purchase from my Close To My Heart on-line store.  That is the good news. The bad news is that the initial supplies are limited and are already selling out.  But not to fear, we are expecting another shipment soon.

You can begin acquiring your Workplace organizers now, purchasing the pieces that are available, and adding new pieces when the new shipment arrives.  The stamp pad holders are currently out of stock, but will be available again soon.

I confess that I jumped right on these products when I received notification that they were in stock.  I have been anticipating this product line since the new Annual Inspirations Catalog came out last summer.  I was checking every week for their release.

I ordered my products as soon as I found the workplace wonders were available.  My new products should be here on Tuesday.  As I said above you can begin with the products that are still available, and add additional pieces in a few weeks.

For more information watch the video below and check out the Workplace Wonders at my on-line CTMH store:

Earlier in the month I posted about a great opportunity this month only for those who might be interested in becoming a CLOSE TO MY HEART consultant. Read more about that HERE.  And HERE. But do not dally.  Let me know if you would like to join my team, Paper Couture.

Season's Greetings Blessings Card

Hello friends!  Today I am back with a quick post about a fabulous Christmas card - at least I think it is fabulous!!  I made this card using the Workshop Your Way Oh Deer! Scrapbooking Kit (Item G1116 $26.95).  The kit does not have to be used exclusively for scrapbooking.  At a recent weekend away I attended, each of the attendees purchased this kit ahead of time, then I shared Christmas Card designs with them made from the kit.  This card is just one of the cards I designed for the workshop attendees.

The only two items we used that were not in the kit was the pine stamp, Perfectly Pine (item  A1191 $6.95) and the Gold Sequin Assortment (item z2012 $2.95). All other items were included in the kit, including the gold embossed pine cones.  I plan to use the Perfectly Pine stamp and create more gold heat embossed pine cones!

If you purchase the Workshop Your Way Oh Deer! Scrapbooking Kit from my on-line store, I would be happy to email you the directions to make this card and the other cards the workshop attendees completed.  If you already have the Flower Market cartridge, I can add additional card instructions for you!

Jude's New Apex Designed SVG Shirt

Hello friends!  How stinkin' cute is this little Superhero shirt I made for my grandson, Jude?  I used heat transfer material (aka iron-on vinyl) and one of the Superhero Baby Boy designs from Apex Designs.

Are you familiar with the Apex site? I have used other of their designs and really like them.  I thought this baby boy Superhero set was perfect for Jude. Apex has two design specialties, SVG files and Embroidery Machine files.  I have purchased some of each, but find myself intimidated by my embroidery machine.  (Soon, my friend the embroidery machine, soon, you and I will have a date to become better acquainted).

I cut the Captain America type character at 4.3 inches tall to fit the chest of this size 12 months infant shirt.  I added the phrase Little Hero under the figure.  Layering the heat transfer material and ironing one layer at a time worked wonderfully.  Jude's little shirt is going to look adorable on him in no time (because he is growing like a healthy little weed)!

For more information on Apex Designs and their collection of SVG files and embroidery files, visit the site HERE.  I am truly enjoying working with their files and I know you will love them too!!

Thank you for dropping by today.  I will be back soon with another project to share!!

Carolina Panthers Football Layout

Hey there friends!  I am back today with this week's Bitten By the Bug 2 Cricut Challenge.  Our fabulous design team sister, Lynn, selected a perfect fall challenge - Football.  Lynn gave the option to focus our project on standard American football or European football (A.K.A. Soccer).  I chose standard NLF football and our favorite pro team, the Carolina Panthers.  I might have gone with my Michigan State Spartans, but this is the worst year we have had in many, many, many seasons, and that made me too sad to contemplate scrapping Spartans (I believe I am supposed to state that it is a "building" year).

I used two Cricut cartridges to make this layout Family Album and Sports Mania, and one SVG file I created from a jpg.  The background football, yard lines, goal, and little football are all from a layout on the Family Album cartridge.  I added the word Football from Sports Mania and the Carolina Panther that I created.  I used a white gel pen to add the dots and I added mats for two photos.  This layout is all set for the guys next trip to Bank of America Stadium.

For children this would be a great layout to add a football player from Paper Dolls or Paper Doll Teens.  My guys are all grown so I made my layout less "youthful."

Have you been by the Bitten By The Bug 2 blog yet and viewed the design team's football projects.  I love how varied the design team projects tend to be.  I hope that you will take an opportunity this week and join us in the Football challenge.  We do like it when you join the BBTB2 challenges.

Split Pumpkin Framed Art

Hey there friends!  I am back today with a super quick post.  Remember that cute SVG pumpkin cut I used on Monday's Bitten By The Bug 2 Halloween project?  Well, THIS is the same SVG pumpkin, cut much larger, and framed as a fall home decor project!!

I had a couple of extra 8 x 8 inch frames stashed in my scrap room - along with ALL of the other stashed items - and I thought this cute pumpkin could make a welcoming fall home decor item.  I cut the pumpkin 6.5 inches tall by 7.2 inches wide.  The letters are cut at 1 inch tall.

I cut the background pumpkin in orange card stock and added a cream color bar behind the word Welcome.

After assembling the pumpkin and word layers together, I matted the pumpkin onto a 8.5 x 8.5 inch square of burlap (I have a ton of burlap in my stash too).   I stretched the burlap on to the frame back and reassembled the frame.

As you can see in the photo below, the frame is part of the fall decor explosion on my mantel and built in shelves.  I do love fall decorations, they are so warm looking.

I told you this would be a quick post!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Halloween Card

Hello friends!  Are you ready for another spooktacular card?  My sweet and uber talented design team sister, Laurie, selected the theme for this week's Bitten By The Bug 2 Cricut Challenge - Laurie's challenge is use your Cricut to create a Halloween themed project!  Easy-peasy.

I created this Happy Halloween card using cuts from four Cricut cartridges and an SVG file.  The split pumpkin is the SVG file.  It cuts in three pieces: the stem, the top half and the bottom half. I placed the split pumpkin over the pumpkin on the card.

The base card is on the Autumn Celebrations cartrdige.  It is supposed to be an open card, but I added the gold print paper behind the pumpkin.

The Happy Halloween banner with the bats is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and more 2 cartridge.  I sized this banner to cover the simple Happy Halloween on the base card.  I used a black marker to add the bat faces.

The candy corn cuts are from the Trick or Treat cartridge.  There is a sucker in the cut with the candy corn, but I chose not to use the sucker.

The double layer word BOO was cut using the Don Juan cartridge.  I sized the word to fit in the open area of the split pumpkin.

I finished the card with additional black marker doodling on the card edges and the candy corn.

I have to tell you that the Bitten By The Bug 2 design team hit a home run this week.  Their designs are amazing.  If you have not already done so, please do go by the BBTB2 blog and check out all of the Halloween project eye candy!

Witch Hat Blast From The Past

Hello friends!  Every now and again I like to share a project that I have previous posted to my blog - sort of a greatest hits post.  Today is one of those greatest hits moments.  I made this fabulous Witch Hat home decor project in October 2014.

The witch hat was cut on the Cricut using both the CTMH Artiste cartridge and the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  The hat cone shape is one of the the 3-D elements available on Artiste.  I made the come using the cone shape with a star cut out.  I removed the star shape by using the "Contour" feature.

The awesome spider web trim on the hat was also cut using the Artiste cartridge.  The hat trim is made from the Halloween cupcake wrapper, cut in two sizes.

The hat brim, flowers, and the leaves were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used two colors of cardstock for the flowers and double-sided cardstock to cut the leaves.  The double layer tag was cut using an Artiste cut.

I hope that you enjoyed this greatest hits post.  It was a nice walk down memory lane for me.  I will be back soon with another new project!!

The October Stamp of the Month, Yuletide Joy, is a perfect addition to your Christmas stamps.  It is available for this month only - $17.95 retail, or $5.00 during check out with a $50.00 order.

Popcorn Box Movie Gift Card Holder

Hello friends!  It is Monday and time for this week's Bitten By the Bug 2 Cricut Challenge.  My amazing Design Team sister, L.B, selected this Cricut Challenge - a Movie Theme.  There were so many possibilities with this challenge - scrapping movie themes, scrapping of movie nights, and so many others.  I decided to take a different route and I created a movie gift card holder.

The basic card came from the Crazy Cute Cards cartridge.  I made a few edits in Design Studio, which would be difficult to explain.  I used textured white cardstock for the white section of the card.  I wanted to give the popcorn additional texture.

The other two cartridges used to make this card are Movie Night and When I was a Kid.  From these two cartridges I cut the ticket on the front of the "box" and the Movie Night title inside the card.

I finished this box with gold gemstones in the buttered popcorn.  I think this is the perfect amount of bling on this card. I really like how this gift card holder turned out.  Best of all, it will slide right down inside a Christmas stocking.

Be sure to go by the Bitten By the Bug 2 Blog and check out the Movie Themed projects my wonderful Design Team.  They always rock the weekly challenges.

Have you taken the time to enter the weekly Bitten By the Bug 2 Cricut Challenges?  I would like to personally invite you to follow BBTB2 and enter our weekly challenges.  The challenge rules on listed on the sidebar at the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog.

My Favorite Hello Kitty Costume

Hello friends!  How stinkin' cute is Kitty in her Halloween costume?  Of all of the Hello Kitty Cricut cuts, this Halloween Kitty is by far my favorite.  She is just so cute as Black Cat!  Ha ha.

This is my card for this week's Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge.  My wonderfully talented and kind Design Team sister, Laurie, is hosting this week.  The challenge is to use a Cricut cut FRAME on your project.

I used this adorable spider web frame from the Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge (the black frame).  I copied the frame, used the edit contour feature, and removed the inner web pieces, then I decreased the size so that the orange layer is an background.  Finally I copied the orange layer and cut a large square out of the middle so that I created the white layer of the frame.  I think the three layers look so much better than the single frame.

I cut Hello Kitty from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge.  I love this cartridge! It is a must have for the die hard Hello Kitty fan.  I also have the Hello Kitty font cartridge, but find that I use it less frequently.

The little pumpkins were cut using the Pop-up Neighborhood cartridge.  I thought the pumpkins were the perfect embellishment for this simple card.

Have you been by the Bitten By The Bug 2 blog yet and checked out the great Framed projects shared by the Design Team.  You will be truly inspired to create your own framed project!  Don't forget to share with us after you complete your project!!
