Valentine Shaker Card

Hello friends! Welcome to my project for this week's Bitten By the Bug 2 Cricut Challenge.  I am hosting this week's challenge, Valentine Hearts!  I want to see your Valentine projects - cards, layouts, vinyl, or home decor - featuring Cricut cut hearts!

My project this week is this Valentine Shaker Card.  I have not made many shaker cards, so I am never very quick with them.  This card was no exception.

I used Cricut Basic Shapes and three additional Cricut cartridges to craft this card.  The basic card shape and the matting layers were cut using the square on Basic Shapes.  The eyelet trimmed hearts, which layers together to make the shaker section, was cut using the Sweethearts cartridge.  The word love came from Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art.  And the Cricut drawing was from Photo Fun - Holiday Memories, the Floral Paisley Drawing, edited using the Contour (remove) feature.

I used confetti from my scrap stash, meticulously picking out the red, pink, and aqua heart sequins, as well as red and pink round sequins, to fill the shaker area. The shaker window was cut from clear package plastic (like that which cartridges come in).  I save the flat pieces of clear plastic and use them when I need a "window" added to a project.

If you have not been by the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog, you truly must go check out the cute Valentine heart projects that the design team created.  Also, as you are finishing up your Valentine projects this week, I invite you to link up with the challenge post and share your project with us.

Thanks for stopping by today.
