Oh Happy Day Bouquet

Hey there friends, I am back today with another fun CTMH Flower Market card.  This is another of my Rustic Home cards - perfect for the farmhouse craze (thanks to Joanna and Chip Gaines).

I used CTMH Rustic Home cardstock for the background and solid cardstock for all of the other elements. And everything, yes, EVERYTHING, was cut with the Flower Market cartridge!  That cute wreath?  Yep.  Those darling milk bottles?  Uh-huh! Those great flowers?  Yes, indeed!  That sentiment ribbon?  Yes, ma'am!  And you know what else?  The ribbon is from the Rustic Home Ribbon set.

I really am having a good time with the Flower Market cartridge.  The flowers are great, but somehow it is not all about the flowers for me.  I love those wreaths, vases, and word cuts.  And yeah, the flowers are pretty fab too!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I am going to transition into fall and Christmas projects soon.  I have made a bunch of projects to share with you!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember that today is your LAST DAY to order the fabulous Stamp of the Month, Blessed Beyond Measure.  Just click on the name and you will be taken to my on-line CTMH store!!

Blessed Card

Hey there friends, I am back today with a new Close To My Heart Flower Market card.  I really love all of the wreaths, vines, flowers, and accessory cuts on the Flower Market cartridge.  I also love that the cartridge compliments so many design styles.   I am currently enjoying a bit of a farm style and have found many cuts that lend themselves to that style.

For the card above I used the two Ranunculus flower cuts and the vine wreath cut.  I like the sweet simplicity of the card.  I used papers from two different CTMH paper sets: I used the dots paper from the Whimsy Fundamentals  set and a wood grain from the Rustic Home Fundamentals set.  The Burlap ribbon from the Rustic Home Ribbon pack.

I finished the card by framing the front focal area in burlap ribbon.  I also stamped the word Blessed, from September's Stamp of the Month set, Blessed Beyond Measure, onto white cardstock and hand cut the paper to fit the sentiment area.

I love this month's Stamp of the Month, Blessed Beyond Measure. Remember that this lovely set is available only through the end of September - this FRIDAY!!   It can be purchased for $17.95, or with a $50.00 order, you can add the Stamp of the Month to your cart during check out!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I will be back soon to share more of the cute cards I have made recently.

Retro Card

Hello friends.  Welcome to this quick Bitten By the Bug 2 challenge post. Our design team sister, Emily, is back from her moving break (everyone cheer - YAY!!!), and is handling this week's Cricut challenge.  Emily has issued a Retro project challenge - use your Cricut to create a project representing the 50's, 60's, or 70's.  I created this card to represent the 1960's, the era of my childhood.

I used three Cricut cartridges to create this card:  The new Close To My Heart digital City Sidewalks Christmas cartridge, Groovy Times, and Suburbia.  The funky patterned background is from City Sidewalks.  I love this fun cut as it reminds me of the big city Christmas lights of my childhood. My mom used to take my brother and I from our safe neighborhood in the suburbs into downtown Detroit to see the Christmas lights and window scenes at J.L Hudson's.  It was always a snowy, fun day for us.

The 45 rpm record and the word Groovy are from the Groovy Times cartridge.  I cannot tell you how many 45's I had as a child!  The girl on the telephone is from Suburbia.  She looks like a retro teen to me.

I hope that you have enjoyed my Retro Card.  If you would like to see more retro projects - really, really good retro projects, head on over to the Bitten By The Bug 2 blog and check out the Design Team's fabulous Retro projects.

We hope that you will consider joining us in this week's challenge.  We do love it when you play along!

Welcome Fall

Hello friends.  It is Monday and that means it is time for the weekly Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge.  My very sweet and very creative design team sister, Caroline, selected this week's Cricut Challenge Cut.  Caroline has asked us to use a Cricut cut Apple on our project this week.

I made this sweet little fall card with an apple on the front using two Cricut Cartridges, the new Close To My Heart Flower Market, and Home for the Holidays - Fall and Winter.   I cut the WELCOME Fall apple using Home for the Holidays.  After cutting the apple I brushed on a glitter glaze on the red layer, which created the white specs in the photos.  The layered simple wreath cut is from Close To My Heart's new FLOWER MARKET cartridge.  I cut the bottom layer in orange and the top layer in an apple green cardstock. The circle behind the wreath and the matting layers were also cut with the Cricut, using the basic shapes feature in Cricut Design Space.

I used several finishing techniques on the card: zig-zag stitching with my sewing machine, fall colored gems on the berry cuts, and fall color twine wrapped and tied around the top two layers of the card.

Thank you for stopping by today. If you have not already done so, please hop over to the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog and view all of the amazing fall apple projects the design team created to inspire you.  Then please create your own Cricut Apple cut project and link up with us at Bitten By the Bug 2 for the weekly challenge!!

Sweel Little Fox

Hello friends.  I am back today to share an adorable layout of my favorite baby girl - our Sweet Little Fox, Avaleigh.  Last Saturday I spent 12 hours at my favorite scrapbook store, Scrapbook Creations in Spartanburg, SC. Three friend and I need some scrapbooking and girlfriend time to create, laugh, and relax.  Scrapbook Creations was the perfect prescription for what we needed!  While I did not get as much accomplished as I had hoped, I did create this foxy layout, and I just love it.

I have had these photos sitting on my scrapping desk for a year and truly it was past time to scrap them.  Several months ago I purchased the woodland creates stamp and punch set from my friend Sharon.  I thought the little foxes were perfect for this layout. The trees and and mushrooms were also included in the stamp set.

I used Close To My Heart's Charlotte papers and accessories, with two 12 x 12 sheets of cardstock from our new Rustic Home Fundamentals line.  The Charlotte line is no longer available (boo, I loved this paper line), but you can see the Rustic Home Fundamental HERE.  Also, we do have a nice variety of new paper lines that you will like.

The title for these pages was cut with my Cricut Explore using the Bobbie Script font, italicized, also using the Charlotte papers.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed my Sweet Little Fox layout.  I will be back with another project soon!

Spooky Little Monsters

Hello friends, welcome to my weekly Bitten By the Bug 2 post.  I am so excited to tell you that the weekly challenge was selected by Valentyna, our amazing Design Team sister.  Valentyna is a fabulous paper crafter and has been away from Bitten By The Bug 2, but is returning to join us this month!!!

This week Valentyna challenged us to make a man card featuring either spooky creatures or arrows.  I chose to use this fun frame shape from the Storybook cartridge (an old favorite) and make a fun little spooky card for my  fun little nephew.

I thought the frame shape was perfect for my spooky trio of creatures.  I used Design Space and ungrouped the image, then copied and pasted the bottom layer.  I welded the two bottom layers together to create the card.

The papers for this project are from Jeepers Creepers, a new paper and accessories line by Close To My Heart.  The creatures were created with Close To My Heart thin cuts dies with matching stamps set, Monstrous Halloween Thin Cuts Bundle.

I also used CTMH washi tape, stars, and gold sequins.  The eyes on the monsters are from the Jeepers Creepers accessory set.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope that you take the time to create a man card using either Halloween Creatures or Arrows and share with us at Bitten By The Bug 2.

First Sunglasses

Hello friends, I am a little late getting my Bitten By The Bug 2 post up today. So sorry to be tardy to the party!  I selected this weeks Cricut Challenge Cut - Glasses.   I thought the Design Team could have fun with this challenge cut, and so could YOU!

I had an adorable plan for my layout, but you know the saying, "the best laid plans..."  That would apply to my layout plan.  A couple of weeks ago we went out for ice cream with Avaleigh.  While everyone else was finishing up, her papa and GranDoug took her for a walk to the Dollar Tree, where she found the cutest sunglasses.

When they returned to Marble Slab, Avaleigh's godmother snapped some photos of her wearing and playing with her sunglasses.  I was hoping to use those photos on my layout!  But alas, her godmother has not shared yet.  So I went ahead and created a layout for when I do actually receive the digital images.

I used three cartridges to to create the cuts for this layout:  Paisley, Forever Young, and Simply Charmed.  I used a Close To My Heart paper and accessory pack.  My layout features a five by seven photo on the left page and two four by six photos on the right.  Perfect for Avaleigh's sunglasses photo!

I invite you to join us in the weekly challenge.  Create your own project featuring eye glasses and share with us under the post at Bitten By the Bug 2!
