Just Beachy Wedding Card

Hello friends.  I am so excited to share this week's Bitten By the Bug 2 challenge project with you.  I just LOVE this card!  The challenge for the week was selected by our amazing Emily, who sadly is out on leave due to relocation.  Emily chose a very summery challenge:  Use Pool or Beach cuts on a project.

My project is very beachy, but it is also chocked full of golden highlights and an elegant monogram.  I created this card for my friend Peggy's son and his wife.  Mark and Caroline were married earlier this year in private ceremony. Later this month they will have their married blessed in the Greek Orthodox Church and we will celebrate the blessing at a beach themed reception.  I thought the card should match the some elements of the reception.

I used only one Cricut cartridge on this card, Dimensional Scenes-Mermaid. I also used a font from my computer to create the monogram.  The background paper is from Close To My Heart, a monthly special earlier this summer.  It has wide white and gold stripes.  The shells are cut in a beautiful CTMH aqua colored card stock, a special from earlier this summer.  The beautiful coral and gold layer is from the same CTMH paper pack.

I used a gold metallic self adhesive paper to create the monogram.  I used a monogram friendly font from my computer, welded the letters together, and adhered them to the card front.  I love the gold elements on this card and I positioned the card in the photo above so that most of the gold elements were highlighted.

Have you already visited the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog today?  If not you need to head right over there as soon as you read the rest of my post.  The design team came up with A-MA-ZING projects this week.  They completely WOW-ed me!   And with inspiration like they provided, I hope that you are moved to join our challenge this week.  Create your new Pool or Beach theme project and link in at the challenge post at the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog.  I cannot wait to see your projects!!

great idea to turn this cut into a wedding card. I have seen it many times in the last few months - everyone loves this cut - me too. You really added the bling with all that gold. Perfect
