Love Never Melts Snow Holiday Card

Hello everyone, I am back with another Christmas Card Sample to share today.  As you know, I will be hosting three Christmas card workshops.  This week, and next Tuesday, I will be previewing cards you can choose to make at the workshop.

There are two options for this year's card classes - 1) You may purchase the CTMH Christmas Card Workshop on the Go through my on-line CTMH website and bring that with you to the workshop, or make the cards at home on your own.  Or 2) you can select from the card samples posted on my blog and I will have kits ready for you to stamp and assemble at the classes. You will be able to make the cards of your choice (from the various samples) in sets of 5 for $7.00 or 15 cards for $20.00.

The classes will be offered at my home on the following dates:

  • Saturday, November 2 from 10:00 am - completed cards
  • Thursday, November 7 from 6:30 pm - completed cards
  • Sunday, November 17 from 2:00 pm - completed cards

This fun easel fold card is perfect for those who enjoy less formal, but heartfelt, holiday cards.  I love the phrase, "Love never melts" stamped on the front of the card.  You may chose to stamp Merry Christmas or some other holiday greeting inside the card.

The card was created using the Close to my Heart Frosted paper collection and the Flakey Friends CTMH stamp set.    If you are interested in this card but are unable to attend my card classes, you may purchase the materials used at my on-line CTMH store by clicking on the item names above.

Remember to look at the Christmas from the Heart gift guide and the stamp of the month!! The items in the Gift Guide are available on a while supplies last basis.

The stamp of the month, Scandinavian Wishes, which coordinates with your Art Philosophy cartridge, is available only through October 31!

Special Halloween Treat Bags

Hello everyone!  Can you believe it is already Halloween?  I am so glad that I planned ahead and did not let it creep up on me (BOO!).   Instead last month I order this cute set of Halloween Kiss stamps from my friend Michelle at Jaded Blossoms and planned my Halloween Treats.

And what perfect timing... My fabulously talented and kind Design Team sister from Bitten by the Bug 2, Jayne, selected this week for our Trick or Treat Challenge!!   I am so happy that I had actually planned ahead and had my special Trick or Treat projects ready for Thursday.

I used only one Cricut cartridge to create this fun treat bag topper - Close To My Heart Artiste.  I cut the label, the spider web and the spider with Artiste, using Cricut Craft Room to size my cuts.  Assembly was a breeze and in addition to the white doodles, I finished the bag with a Halloween card stock sticker!

While on a shopping trip to Michael's, I found these great spiderweb print cello treat bags.  I knew they would be perfect for some of my favorite little trick or treat visitors.  And best of all, they would hold a nice stash of Halloween stamped kisses!  I considered these bags to be a major Trick or Treat score!

I hope that you will consider joining us this week at Bitten by the Bug 2.  We would love to see your Trick or Treat Halloween projects.  After you create a NEW project, check the sidebar at BBTB2 for the challenge rules, then link your project under the Trick or Treat challenge.

Nativity Ornament Christmas Card Class Sample

Hello everyone, I am back with another Christmas Card Sample to share today.  As you know, I will be hosting three Christmas card workshops.  This week, and next Tuesday, I will be previewing cards you can choose to make at the workshop.

There are two options for this year's card classes - 1) You may purchase thCTMH Christmas Card Workshop on the Go through my on-line CTMH website and bring that with you to the workshop, or make the cards at home on your own.  Or 2) you can select from the card samples posted on my blog and I will have kits ready for you to stamp and assemble at the classes. • Saturday, November 2 from 10:00 am - completed cards
  • Thursday, November 7 from 6:30 pm - completed cards
  • Sunday, November 17 from 2:00 pm - completed cards

I am going to immodestly tell you that I love this card!!  The idea to use the Nativity stamp on the ornament came to me as I was going to bed on Thursday night.  On Friday morning I realized that I could add the gold oval and and make the Nativity appear as if it is a scene inside the ornament!!  So yes, I love this simple card.

I cut the ornament with the Artiste cartridge, using the Sparkle and Shine paper collection.  After stamping the nativity set, I inked the edges of the white oval then added the gold trim.  I used a sparkle pen and shimmer gems to finish the scene.

I added a gold top to the ornament and attached the ornament to a red matting.  After adding the sentiment and the dashes, I finished the card with a red seam binding bow.

This Nativity Ornament card is one of five samples I have shared so far.  I will share another card on Tuesday, making a total of six cards I will be offering at this year's Christmas Card Classes.

In the meantime, remember to look at the Christmas from the Heart gift guide and the stamp of the month!!  The items in the Gift Guide are available on a while supplies last basis.  The stamp of the month, Scandinavian Wishes, which coordinates with your Art Philosophy cartridge, is available only through October 31!

Christmas Card Classes Samples

Hello everyone.  I took a day off of blogging yesterday and that made me a day behind on card samples for my Christmas cards classes.   No problem!  Today I will post two samples.  I love this first card - Christmas in the Woods!  It is a center step card stamped with the stamps from the Close to my Heart Christmas Card Workshop on the Go stamp set.  Yes, that is the same stamp set I used on Tuesdays's card!

As a reminder, I will be hosting three Christmas card workshops.  This week I will be previewing cards you can choose to make at the workshop.  You may either purchase the CTMH Christmas Card Workshop on the Go through my on-line CTMH website and bring that with you to the workshop, or make the cards at home on your own.  Or you can select from the card samples posted on my blog and I will have kits ready for you to stamp and assemble.  You will be able to make the cards of your choice in sets of 5 for $7.00 or 15 card for $20.00.

  • Saturday, November 2 from 10:00 am - completed cards
  • Thursday, November 7 from 6:30 pm - completed cards
  • Sunday, November 17 from 2:00 pm - completed cards

My second card preview tonight I call, Nativity Panels. I love the stunning effect of the silhouetted Holy family and the shepherd.   Next time I make this card I will put the star over Joseph and Mary and move the Peace on Earth phrase over baby Jesus.

I embellished this card with flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge and pine boughs from a punch.  I finished the flowers with the same CTMH glitter gems that I used on the star.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back with another Christmas card sampler post soon!

Holly Jolly Christmas Card

Hello everyone!  Today I am introducing a series of Christmas cards that will be offered as classes.  Anyone who lives in my area will be welcome to sign up for a card class.  Those who are not local may purchase some of the kits, either from my Close To My Heart on-line store, or from me directly, depending on the card design.

Today's card, Holly Jolly Christmas, was created using Close to my Heart's Workshops on the Go, Frosted Cardmaking Kit.  Everything you need (except ink) to create 15 Christmas cards, three designs, five cards each.  The kit includes the stamps, cards and envelopes, instructions, printed card stock, solid card stock, gems, and twine, all for $24.95.  The instructions show you not only how to cut the papers, but also how to assemble the cards. And once you own the kit, you can use the same stamps and instructions to create additional cards in your own colors.

If you look closely at the photo above you will see red, green and kraft colored card stock.  I did not use the red and green colors on this card.  Instead, I used additional paper and card stock from the Frosted paper set ($9.99) and customized the cards in the kit.

The snowflake stamps come with the kit and I love how pretty they look when stamped on the smooth card stock.  I added sparkle gems to the center of the snowflakes.

I think the blues on my card add a bit of winter chill to the overall look of the card.  I will be offering this basic card in my card class.  But I will also offer this card in a couple of different colors.

If you are not local to Aiken, SC, feel free to order the card kit and personalize it as you prefer.  If you are local, I will be posting card previews this entire week.  The classes will be offered at my home on the folloing dates:

  • Saturday, November 2 from 10:00 am - completed cards
  • Thursday, November 7 from 6:30 pm - completed cards
  • Sunday, November 17 from 2:00 pm - completed cards

Also, if you are semi-local to Aiken, SC, please consider supporting an up-coming benefit crop that I am co-sponsoring.  Crop for a Cause is to assist my friend Jan's daughter, Terri, will be held Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken.  The cost of the crop is $20.00 and all funds will go directly to the charity.  If you would like to attend the crop or donate to the crop, please email me at spartansus@gforcecable.com .   See below for details for details.

Terri Mazzella, 47 yr old wife and mother of two, is one of the most caring, compassionate people you will ever meet. On July 28, 2013, she nearly lost her life. While traveling out of town to vacation with her mother, she had an aortic blood clot.  The clot moved from her aorta, broke into smaller clots, and occluded most of the mesenteric arteries going to her small bowels and right kidney.  She was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, where she had immediate surgery and was placed on life support. She lost a kidney and 19 feet of her small intestine . Her prognosis was questionable for days as she underwent several more surgeries. In additional to being on a ventilator to breathe, many expensive life-sustaining measures were taken.  Terri is currently healing and recovering, but was left with many unmet expenses.  Our hope is that through this crop, which was developed because Terri’s mom is a scrapbooker, paper crafters might help us offset some of Terri’s expenses while doing that which we love to do!

I hope some of you will be able to attend!!!

Autumn Pumpkin Layout

Hello everyone.  I cannot believe that it is the third week of October already - only nine weeks until Christmas!  And here in South Carolina I am hoping to be able to finally turn off the air conditioning this week!  How crazy is that?

It is Monday and that means it is time for the weekly Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge.  My delightful and talented Design Team sister, Caroline, selected this week's challenge.  Caroline challenged the Design Team to use a Cricut cut pumpkin on a project this week.  I decided to milk my September photos one more time and I created a fall themed layout.

I have mentioned previously that I scrap the same photos in different combinations for different scrapbooks.  You have seen these photos scrapped for Bethany's scrapbook, for Ian's scrapbook, and now for the family book.

I used four cartridges to create this two page 12x12 inch layout:  Artbooking, Create A Critter, Just Because Cards, and Thanksgiving.  I used the Close to my Heart Huntington Paper pack and Autumn Terracotta card stock.

The pumpkins on my layout were cut in two different sizes using Artbooking.  The pumpkins are cut in two layers.  I used PK Glitz fine glitter to complete the pumpkins - gold on the pumpkin body, and green on the leaves.

The cute squirrel was cut using Create A Critter.  He too was cut with CTMH card stock.  The squirrel is sitting in an acorn and leaf flourish, cut using the Thanksgiving cartridge.  I finished the leaves and acorns with gold and bronze glitter.

The corn stalks were cut with Just Because Cards.  I added a touch of gold to the corn at the top of the stalks.  The together banner, the words Autumn and Harvests, as well as the photo frames were cut with Artbooking.  I finished the layout with doodles in both white and brown ink, wooden buttons, and two printed canvas embellishments.

Though this layout is not very complicated, I do not usually use this sectional type of page layout and I will admit that assembly took a bit longer than I had planned.  And yet, I will also admit that I had fun making all of the little embellishments and page elements!

I would like to invite you to join us in this fun pumpkin challenge this week.  Craft any project that includes Cricut cut pumpkins, check the sidebar rules at the Bitten by the Bug 2 blog, and link your project under this week's challenge on the BBTB2 blog.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I have just a couple of CTMH reminders for you:

If you still have not purchased the Artbooking cartridge, please consider shopping with me at my Close To My Heart on-line store.

Artbooking Fall Layout Video

Hello friends!  I had a project planned for you today - another Christmas card - but since Close To My Heart made this fabulous video for fall scrapbooking with the Artbooking cartridge, I decided to share this instead.

You remember the Artbooking cartridge, right?  Yep, I thought so... but just to refresh your memory, here is a quick photo collage:

Now, about this video - first I should tell you that I adore fall layouts.  Fall and Christmas are my two favorite seasons to scrap.  I love the colors used in both of these types of layouts.  CTMH has captured the rich fall hues on the layouts featured in this video.  At a bit over five and half minutes, the video packs in a lot of information.  You will find out how to make five great 12 x 12 inch scrapbook pages, as well as some hints for an 8 x 8 inch format.

Because there is so much information in the layout, I thought I should capture screen shots of the pages and share them with you as still photos.  Below are three images from the Autumn Harvest two page layout.

Below here are images of the Give Thanks layout:

I love the matting ideas and elements on this page!

If you still have not purchased the Artbooking cartridge, please consider shopping with me at my Close To My Heart on-line store.
