Our Favorite Disney Princess

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the weekly Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge - We Love Disney!  This week's challenge was selected by my very talented Design Team sister, Michelle, who, like me, loves Disney!  Michelle challenged us to use any cut from ANY DISNEY CARTRIDGE on our projects this week.

Our household favorite Disney Princess, hands down, is Ariel!  The Little Mermaid was Bethany's first movie she saw at the theater... She was two, Aaron was four and they loved the movie and sat transfixed through the entire show.

Even Aaron, my 27 year old, still loves Ariel.  The last time we were at Disney, Aaron waited in line at Ariel's Grotto in order to be photographed with her.  When he finally arrived at the front of the line Ariel said to him, "You have red hair like me!"  He responded, "Yes, that's why you're my favorite Disney Princess!"  She melted into him (he was 21-22 at the time) and said, "Awe".

I decided, since all of our Disney photos have been scrapped, to make a gift bag front.  I cut two images from the Dreams Come True cartridge, one of Ariel with her hair swirling around her, and one of Flounder, Ariel's trusted friend.   I cut the various layers and assembled the characters on a black background.  I finished Ariel with a pearl pen necklace complete with a glimmer gemstone.

Next I cut an oval and a scalloped oval matting and glued Ariel and Flounder to the front of the ovals.  I finished the oval with white pen stitches.

After attaching Ariel and Flounder to the front of my gift bag, I went back to Cricut Craft Room and the Dreams Come True cartridge and crafted the to/from gift cart at the top of the bag.  I finished the gift bag with the same glitter gems I used on Ariel.  A touch of yellow ribbon as a bow was the perfect finishing touch to the Disney Princess gift bag!

I hope you will join us this week at BBTB2 and help us celebrate our We Love Disney Week.  Use any Disney cartridge to create your project this week, then share it with us at BBTB2.  For more details, see the BBTB2 sidebar for the challenge rules.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Such a cute gift bag. There is a child in all of us. Ariel has to be one of my favorites! I love the gift card, also.

Love the story of your son waiting to get a pic with Ariel! You never get too old for some Disney magic :) This looks wonderful-I really like the necklace for Ariel and the oval mats you used for the background anchor Ariel and her fishy friend so perfectly! My boys are not so into the princesses (although they were briefly transfixed by Jasmine's outfit, lol), but I love them and have sworn we are at least getting a photo with Cinderella or Ariel next trip.
