From the Kitchen Dinner Invitation

Hello everyone, happy Monday.  Today is Bitten by the Bug 2 post day and I have a  lovely dinner invitation card to share.  My talented and long time design team sister, Shelly, selected the theme for this week's BBTB2 Cricut Challenge.  Shelly challenged the design team to create a project "from the kitchen".  I decided to make a dinner invitation.

I used two Cricut cartridges to create this card:  From My Kitchen and Art Philosophy.  I cut the base card, matting and the sentiment tag with Art Philosophy.  I cut the lovely layered place setting using From My Kitchen.

I have always liked this place setting, but anyone who reads my blog regularly knows that I like dishes in general!  So why not paper dishes?  I used subtle blue and teal hues to create the place setting, topping the silverware cuts with silver metallic paper.  The center of the dinner plate is covered with a vellum circle with a wonderful sentiment - "Friends are part of the family we get to choose!"  I do love some of my friends like family!

I added two tiny pops of ribbon for texture - one on the fork and the other on the edge of the plate.  Thanks MFK - my friend Kathy - for coming through with ribbon for my card!

I finished the card with a double layer tag stamped with a generic "You're  Invited" stamp from my stash.  I used black memento ink for the stamp.

Be sure to go by the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog and check out the other "from my Kitchen" projects the design team created.  And remember we truly enjoy it when you play along with us on the weekly challenge.  Just create a new project using a Cricut cut with the kitchen theme, post it on your blog and link to the original post at BBTB2.  One talented crafter will win the BBTB2 Project of the Week button to display on their blog!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I will be back with new projects to share this week.  Happy crafting!!!
